How much is Drake worth? According to him, it’s none of your business.
Lawyers for the Toronto rap superstar have asked a judge to exclude any evidence of his wealth at an upcoming trial.
In 2014, music publishing company Hebrew Hustle and the estate of jazz musician Jimmy Smith sued Drake, alleging he copied a spoken-word part from a 1982 Smith song on the Nothing Was The Same track “Pound Cake/Paris Morton Music 2.”
Drake, who denied the claim, countersued Hebrew Hustle for allegedly using his image and name on its website.
According to The Blast, the rapper is asking the court not to let a jury hear any evidence of his “financial condition or comparative wealth” because it could be prejudicial.
In March, Forbes ranked Drake as the fifth wealthiest hip-hop artist (tied with Eminem) and claimed he has earned $250 million U.S. since 2010.
A judge has not yet ruled on the motion, which was filed Nov. 9.
