Ed Sheeran released another Divide (stylized as ÷) track called “How Would You Feel (Paean)” on Friday (Feb. 17) in conjunction with his 26th birthday.
Much like he's done in the past, Ed's tender tone and lyrics bring the romantics to the forefront on the live rendition of “How Would You Feel (Paean).” Clocking in at almost five-minutes, the ballad is a quintessential tribute to the beauty of love, all while honoring his very own lover. Interestingly enough, the song was only included on the LP after the suggestion of his girlfriend.
“I actually forgot the song existed. I’d finished the album and I was going through notes and I said to my girlfriend ‘What's your favourite song on the album?’, and she said ‘You’ve forgotten it existed and I've got it in my email 'cause I'm the only one you sent it to,’” he recently told Ryan Seacrest. “So she picked it out from like, a year and a half ago and then I ended up recording it.”
Sheeran teased the Divide cut on social media earlier this week, but admitted that the track will not receive the single treatment à la “Shape of You” and “Castle on the Hill.”
