Camila Cabello fulfilled a dream when the budding pop star worked with Ed Sheeran on a song for her debut solo album, The Hurting The Healing The Loving, and the former shared some generous words about the track in his recent interview with Hugo Gloss.
During his chat with the Brazilian personality, the 26-year-old spoke about "The Boy," which the former 5H bandmate recently compared to something along the lines of James Brown. "You know how Beyoncé came out with ‘Crazy in Love’?” he asked. "It's just sass and big vocals. Camila has a voice that should be really shown off. I was like, I know what I want Camila to do as a singer."
Sheeran went on to explain that the initial demo of the track has come a long way since Cabello got her hands on it. "I demoed this song where I sing really high as if I'm a girl, singing all these lyrics about being a girl. I sent it to her," he explained. "And she kind of took it apart and made it obviously sound like her. She changed 90% of the lyrics on it.”
