A British tabloid reported Tuesday that singer Ed Sheeran and wife Cherry Seaborn are expecting their first child.
The Sun, citing one unnamed source, said the couple have kept the pregnancy on the down-low by staying at their estate in Suffolk, England during the COVID-19 lockdown. The baby is reportedly due “later this summer.”
The tabloid quoted its source as saying Sheeran, 29, and Seaborn, 28, are “over the moon” and have “started telling friends and family” about the pregnancy.
There has been no confirmation from reps for Sheeran, who announced last December that he was taking a break from music and social media. “I promise to be back with some new music when the time is right,” he said, “and I’ve lived a little more to actually have something to write about.”
Sheeran and Seaborn have typically kept their private life out of the spotlight. The former high school classmates started dating in 2015 and got engaged in January 2018. They tied the knot exactly a year later in a secret ceremony attended by only a few family members and close friends.
Following The Sun report, competitor The Daily Mail published photos of Seaborn taken in March that it claims show “a hint of what was clearly her rounded stomach.”
In 2017, another British tabloid claimed Sheeran was stepping away from the music business to focus on marrying Seaborn and starting a family.
