Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder and Ryan Adams were among the stars celebrating Elton John’s 70th birthday on Saturday.
The milestone was marked at Red Studios in Los Angeles with a party hosted by actor Rob Lowe.
John and his Canadian husband David Furnish were joined by famous friends like James Corden, Neil Patrick Harris Jon Hamm, Heidi Klum and Katy Perry.
Gaga performed her hits “Bad Romance” and “Born This Way” and joined Wonder on his 1981 song “Happy Birthday.” Adams performed the Elton John classic “Rocket Man.”
Videotaped birthday wishes for John came from Prince Harry, Bono, David Beckham and Ellen DeGeneres.
“Husband. Partner. Soulmate. Friend,” Furnish wrote on Instagram. “Sharing my life with you is the greatest gift of all. Thank-you for all the love, humanity, joy and happiness you bring to our world.
“I love you forever.”

The singer, who earlier celebrated with sons Zachary and Elijah, talked about still standing at 70.
“When I was growing up, 70 sounded like the end of the world,” he said. “But things have changed — you’re only as old as you feel inside.”
The party also honoured the 50th anniversary of John’s songwriting relationship with Bernie Taupin.
“I will retire when they put me in the grave,” Taupin, 66, told the UK’s Mirror. “It’s the same for Elton.
“We enjoy what we do. We always have. We have the same enthusiasm now as we did when we started out in 1967.”
On Instagram, Toronto-born Furnish shared a photo of the songwriting pair and captioned it: “What an extraordinary evening celebrating two historic milestones - Elton's 70th Birthday and 50 years of Elton and Bernie Taupin's successful songwriting partnership.
"True love and loyalty seem to be short supply in some quarters today. United by a deep and abiding love of music, Elton and Bernie serve as a beacon of inspiration for us all.”
Moving into his seventh decade, Elton John is now in the company of music icons like Rod Stewart, 72, Mick Jagger, 73, and Paul McCartney, 74.
