Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour won’t be coming to an end until next year.
The 72-year-old icon is postponing 19 concerts between March 26 and May 2 due to the threat of COVID-19 and restrictions on large gatherings.
Included are shows scheduled in Toronto on March 28 and 29 and in Montreal on April 2 and 3. Tickets will be honoured for the 2021 dates, which will be announced soon.
One of the postponed Toronto shows was a make-up for an October 2019 show John was forced to cancel due to illness.
“This tough decision has been made with the safety and well-being of his fans put to the fore,” read a statement. “Elton looks forward to continuing to perform for his dedicated fans around the world and thanks you for your support.”
John hopes to resume his tour on May 22.
The Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour began in September 2018 and was scheduled to wrap up in early 2021.
