Elton John stocked up on vinyl Tuesday at a Toronto record store – including a copy of Drake and Future’s collection What a Time to Be Alive.
The music icon, sporting a black Adidas track suit, stopped by Sonic Boom around 1 p.m. with security in tow.
John was in the city – the hometown of his husband David Furnish – on a break from his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour. He’ll be back for concerts at the Scotiabank Arena on Sept. 25 and 26.
The tour also includes shows in Ottawa on Sept. 28, Quebec City on Sept. 29 and Montreal on Oct. 4.
The Rocket Man is well known as a music fan and regularly shops at local record stores while on tour. Several years ago, he shopped for CDs at an HMV store in Toronto.
Last year, John bought hundreds of dollars worth of vinyl at Vancouver’s Beat Street Records.
