Metric singer Emily Haines has debuted the video for “Legend of the Wild Horse,” a track from Choir of the Mind, an album she recorded as Emily Haines and The Soft Skeleton.
In the video, which was shot in late-August near Toronto and directed by Justin Broadbent, Haines plays the roles of a suburban housewife and a mysterious figure who’s stalking her.
“Society at large, humanity at large, is still drawn downward to our worst instincts in so many places,” the Toronto-based singer told W Magazine about the video. “Our worst instincts are, unfortunately, situated right next to our best instincts, and the things that make us genuine and authentic are situated next to our vices of greed and violence and narrow-mindedness and bias.”
"Legend of the Wild Horse" follows "Statuette" and "Fatal Gift" from Choir of the Mind.
