Eminem took to Instagram late Monday to mark an important milestone in his life: 12 years drug-free.
“Clean dozen, in the books! I’m not afraid,” the rap star captioned a photo of his latest medallion.
Eminem, 47, has been candid in the past about his addiction to prescription drugs like Vicodin, Valium and Ambien. An overdose in 2007 landed him in hospital.
“I was close to 230 pounds. I’m not sure how I got so big, but I have ideas,” he told Men’s Journal in 2015. "The coating on the Vicodin and the Valium I’d been taking for years leaves a hole in your stomach, so to avoid a stomachache, I was constantly eating — and eating badly.”
Eminem has said he kicked booze as part of his mission to lose weight following a stint in rehab.
