Faith Hill and a number of other powerful voices will be honouring the Queen of Soul on Aug. 31, as Aretha Franklin is laid to rest in her hometown Detroit.
While Hill will be representing country music at the funeral, other notable acts for the service – restricted to friends and family – will include Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Yolanda Adams, Shirley Caesar, The Clark Sisters, Jennifer Holliday, Marvin Sapp, Jennifer Hudson, and Fantasia, according to Detroit Free Press.
Before the funeral, a public, two-day open casket viewing is set to take place at the city’s Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
