Derek Jones, guitarist for rock band Falling in Reverse, has died just five months after losing his fiancée to cancer. He was 35.
Although his death was confirmed by the band’s frontman Ronnie Radke, no cause of death was not immediately shared. It has been reported that Jones died on Tuesday.
“I'll never forget when you picked me up from jail in your old tour van to start Falling in Reverse,” Radke shared in an Instagram post on Wednesday. “Your spirit will be interwoven through the music I write forever.
“Rest in peace Derek Jones. My heart is broken.”
Jones focused on playing with Falling in Reverse beginning in 2010, after playing for about three years in A Smile from the Trenches. He recorded one studio album with A Smile from the Trenches and four with Falling in Reverse.
In 2012, he suffered several broken bones after falling off a stage during a Warped Tour set.
The California native became engaged in 2015 to Christina Cetta, who died of cancer in November 2019.
