If you live in Montreal, and especially in the neighbourhood called the Plateau Mont-Royal, then you might have crossed path with Leonard Cohen during his lifetime.
Indeed, the legendary poet and songwriter was a familiar face at some the area's shops. He would talk to people who expressed their admiration, or give a simple smile at others who stared. But mostly, you would see him walking around wearing his usual suit and hat, carrying a notebook, always, and just being himself -- serene, present, and soft-spoken.

After the announcement of his death, many brought flowers, candles, and even a boombox that played his songs, to the front steps of his house.
