Has Taylor Swift started a sneaky countdown to the release of new music?

Fans are in a frenzy of speculation this week after a series of social media posts by the pop superstar.

It started Sunday afternoon with a filter-heavy Instagram photo that Swift captioned with nothing but seven palm tree emojis.

Later Sunday, she shared a photo showing her sitting on a staircase – on the sixth step from the bottom of the photo or the seventh step from the top of the photo.

On Monday, Swift posted a photo on Instagram showing her looking through one of five openings in a trellis.

Rumours are swirling that Swift is getting ready to drop her seventh studio album. But, all of Swift’s previous albums were released in October or November.

Her most recent was 2017’s reputation, which spawned hits like “Look What You Made Me Do,” “Delicate,” “End Game” and “…Ready for It?”

At the American Music Awards last October, Swift said she considers her albums to be “chapters in my life.” She added: “I have to be really honest with you about something. I’m even more excited about the next chapter."

There are many fan theories floating around.

Last October, Swift posted a photo of her playing Scrabble with her mother. Fans were quick to notice that the point-value of the letters on the singer’s rack equal seven. The pic was captioned: “Let the games BEGIN.”
