The lineup for this year’s Winnipeg Folk Festival has been announced and it’s a bumper year for Canadian artists. Singer-songwriter Feist, who has been away from the music scene for years, will make her return to the stage as a headliner.
Other headliners of the festival include the Shins, and City and Colour who join other big name acts like Barenaked Ladies, Brandi Carlile, Bruce Cockburn and Daniel Lanois.
“This year's lineup is a culmination of many influences and inspirations,” said the festival's artistic director Chris Frayer in a statement.
“Having the chance to travel abroad on behalf of the festival to discover talent creates a great opportunity to bring that sense of discovery back home to the summer fest to share.”
He continued, “Over our 44-year history, our audience has come to expect and be moved by the musical diversity on our stages and this year's festival won't disappoint. The 2017 Winnipeg Folk Fest is full of incredible talent and will be another musical adventure to remember for years to come.”
The festival takes place July 6 - 9 at Birds Hill Park in Winnipeg. See the full lineup below:
