Female artists lead the way in nominations in the Rock categories at the 63rd annual Grammy Awards, which were announced Tuesday.
Fiona Apple, Brittany Howard and Phoebes Bridgers are each up for three awards: Rock Performance, Rock Song and Alternative Music Album. Bridgers also earned a Best New Artist nom.
Grace Potter is nominated for Best Rock Album (Daylight) and Rock Performance (for “Daylight”) and Big Thief – fronted by Adrianne Lenker – has a nom for Best Rock Performance for "Not," a track that earned Lenker a Best Rock Song nomination.
With HAIM also nominated for Best Rock Performance, this marks the first time ever all the nominees in the category are female voices.
Trevor Noah will host the Grammy Awards on Jan. 31, 2021.
