How much would you pay for a baseball cap emblazoned with the logo for a music festival that never happened?
The U.S. Marshals Service is getting bids of more than $300 (all figures U.S.) for the caps in an online auction of Fyre Festival merchandise seized in the fraud case against co-organizer Billy McFarland.
Among the dozens of acts supposedly booked for the two-weekend event in 2017 in Bahamas were Blink-182, Major Lazer, Pusha T, Migos and Lil Yachty. Plagued by logistical issues, bad weather and artist cancellations, Fyre Festival never took place. McFarland was sentenced in 2018 to six years in prison after pleading guilty to wire fraud.

The items – including T-shirts, sweatpants, wristbands and tokens – were supposed to be sold during the festival. According to a press release from the U.S. Marshals Service, McFarland kept the merch “with the intent to sell the items and use the funds to commit further criminal acts while he was on pre-trial release.”
People anxious to own a piece of pop culture infamy are bidding on 126 items until Aug. 13. As of Tuesday morning, T-shirts were getting bids of about $105 and sets of three wristbands were at $20.
