Geddy Lee is launching a new docu series called Geddy Lee Asks: Are Bass Players Human Too? that will stream exclusively on Paramount+.
The four-part series will premiere on December 5 and feature in-depth conversations between Lee and fellow bass players Krist Novoselic (Nirvana), Rob Trujillo (Metallica, Suicidal Tendencies), Les Claypool (Primus), and Melissa Auf der Maur (Hole, Smashing Pumpkins).
The Toronto rock legend is promising "a different kind of music show" where he meets with each musician at their home to dive deep into the lives and inspirations with the main goal of "trying to show the world that a bass player can do many things."
The trailer for the series reveals Lee canning jams with Novoselic, surfing and skateboarding with Trujillo, fishing with Claypool and walking through the woods with Auf der Maur.
Geddy Lee Asks: Are Bass Players Human Too? is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and Toronto's own Banger Films, which made the 2010 documentary, Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage.
Lee will also published his highly anticipated autobiography, My Effin’ Life, on November 14. The day before (November 13), he will embark on a North American tour to promote the book that promises a once-in-a-lifetime evening with the Rush bassist as he discusses his storied life. There are three Canadian stops on the tour: Montréal's Théâtre Maisonneuve (November 21), Vancouver's The Centre in Vancouver (November 23) and Toronto's Massey Hall (December 7).
