Ghost have announced their upcoming feature film, RITE HERE RIGHT NOW, will hit theatres next month.
The Swedish rock band's latest project will receive a global theatrical release for two days only: June 20 and 22.
In a press release, the band revealed that the film “fully immerses viewers in the technicolor melodrama of the vaunted live ritual.” Directed by Ghost's own Tobias Forge and Alex Ross Perry (Her Smell), the film incorporates plot threads from the band's long-running Chapters series and will feature footage shot at their two sold-out shows in 2023 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, CA.
“Over a decade ago when Ghost got signed to Loma Vista, Tom Whalley [owner and CEO] asked what the story of the band was,” Forge says. “He felt telling a story was vital in order to get new fans engaged. I said that because we were a new ‘baby’ band and more importantly we were an ANONYMOUS baby band, there wasn’t really a compelling story to tell. Not yet anyway. But I told him that if he wanted a story, I could come up with one. This film is the fruit of that conversation.”
A full trailer for the film and tickets will be available on Thursday, May 9 at 9:00PM EST. Fans can sign up for more information at ritehereritenow.com.
