Gigi Hadid confirmed on Thursday that she is expecting a baby with singer Zayn Malik.
“Obviously we wish we could’ve announced on our own terms,” the 25-year-old model said during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, “but we’re very excited and happy and grateful for everyone’s well wishes and support.”
The baby news was first reported by TMZ on Tuesday, citing a source close to the couple. The mom-to-be's mother Yolanda Hadid confirmed the pregnancy on Wednesday, telling a Dutch TV show she will become a grandmother in September.
Hadid and Malik have been isolated at Hadid’s family farm in Pennsylvania during the COVID-19 pandemic. “It’s been a nice silver lining to be home and together and really experience it day by day,” she said.
Malik and Hadid have had an on-again, off-again relationship since 2015.
Malik is the third former One Direction member to become a parent. Louis Tomlinson has a four-year-old son with Briana Jungwirth and Liam Payne has a three-year-old son with Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole.
