Canadian country star Gord Bamford announced Monday he is setting out this fall on a tour that will take him from coast to coast.
The 29-city Honkytonks & Dive Bar Tour will kick off Oct. 17 in Calgary but stretches from B.C. to PEI before wrapping up in Winnipeg on Dec. 14.
“Honkytonks and dive bars are where I cut my teeth in this business and fell in love with country music and performing,” Bamford said, in a release. “It’s where I feel right at home.
“I’m looking forward to getting back to my roots where it all began.”
Warming up the crowd at most of the shows on the tour will be JoJo Mason. Tickets go on sale Aug. 30.
The tour takes part of its name from “Dive Bar,” the summer single from the 24-time CCMA Award winner’s eighth album Neon Smoke.
