You may not know his name, but you have likely heard his music.
Danish composer and pianist Bent Fabricius-Bjerre – better known as Bent Fabric – died Tuesday at 95.
His family said he died after a short illness, according to Danish media.
Fabric’s 1962 single “Alley Cat” went to No. 4 on the CHUM chart in Canada and peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. The instrumental track was named Best Rock & Roll Recording at the 5th Grammy Awards.
His other popular recordings include “Chicken Feed” and “Jukebox.”
In addition to releasing more than a dozen albums, Fabric composed music for films and stage productions.
