The hometown of Harry Styles is drawing so many of his fans that local officials have announced plans to hire teenage tour guides.
The town of Holmes Chapel in Cheshire, England only has 6,700 residents, but on a yearly basis it now attracts more than 5,000 fans or "Harries" each year looking to catch a glimpse of where the former One Direction star grew up.
The Guardian reports that some fans are even “risking life and limb” just to see where Styles allegedly had his first kiss, which is near a railway viaduct off a busy road.
As a result, Townsfolk have come up with a free, self-guided tour map distributed by railway station ticket officers that take fans on a two-mile tour of the Grammy winner's favourite local spots, which include a Chinese restaurant he once took Taylor Swift, W Mandeville’s bakery where he worked before X Factor, his childhood cottage and former schools.
But demand has now forced community group The Holmes Chapel Partnership to launch the Harry's Home Village Tour, and they are looking for superfans to lead them.
A job posting on the site says they are "seeking knowledgeable and enthusiastic individuals" that have excellent communication and storytelling skills, and "a genuine interest in Holmes Chapel, its history and links to Harry Styles."
The group's chair Peter Whiers told the Guardian they hope to find guides over the age of 16, but added that “more senior individuals may also apply.”
