The legal brouhaha between Guns N’ Roses and a brewery selling "Guns ’N’ Rosé" ale is over.
Lawyers for Axl Rose’s rock band told a California court that both sides have agreed in principle to settle the dispute. Once a formal settlement is completed, the lawsuit filed in May will be dismissed.
Guns N’ Roses sued Colorado’s Oskar Blues, part of the Canarchy Craft Brewery Collective, in a federal court in Los Angeles, alleging trademark infringement. The band claimed the brewery has been selling the rosé ale since 2018 and leading consumers to believe it is connected with the band.
Oskar Blues withdrew its application to trademark “Guns ’N’ Rosé” after a complaint from the band but said it would continue to sell the beer until next March.
Guns N' Roses also wanted Oskar Blues to stop selling a line of related merchandise – including bandannas – bearing the name.
The details of the settlement have not been made public.
