Halsey has updated fans on her health struggles, revealing that she has been diagnosed with lupus.
The 30-year-old musician posted a video to Instagram in which she discusses her recovery from the autoimmune disease, which makes the immune system cause inflammation and damage organs and tissue throughout the body.
“I feel like an old lady," she says while rubbing her legs with ointment. "I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick. ... I’m having a rebirth, and I’m not going to be sick, and I’m going to look super hot and have lots of energy and I’m just going to get to redo my twenties in my thirties.”
Other videos included within the post find her undergoing treatment in the hospital, performing in the studio, and experiencing a wide range of emotions.
Halsey captioned the post by announcing her new single "The End" (out today) as well as an upcoming album.
"long story short, i’m Lucky to be alive. short story long, i wrote an album. it begins with The End. out now," she writes.
The post ends with the singer-songwriter announcing she will be making donations to both the Lupus Research Alliance and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
