Pop star Halsey has revealed she is getting “aggressive” in treating her endometriosis.
“I’m 23 years old, and I’m going to freeze my eggs,” the singer said on an episode of The Doctors that aired Thursday. “And when I tell people that, they’re like, ‘You’re 23, why do you need to do that? Why do you need to freeze your eggs?’
“Doing an ovarian reserve is important to me because I’m fortunate enough to have that as an option, but I need to be aggressive about protecting my fertility, about protecting myself.”

She added: "Taking these measures to make sure that I get to have, hopefully, a bright future and achieve the things that I want to achieve by doing an ovarian reserve is very important."
Endometriosis is a disease in which tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus grows outside it.
Halsey shared her diagnosis with fans in January 2016 and, last January, revealed that she had surgery to treat her condition.
On The Doctors, she recounted suffering a miscarriage while performing on stage and recalled "the sensation of looking at a couple of hundred teenagers in the face while you're bleeding through your clothes and still having to do the show."
Halsey said she realized in that moment that she needed to fight the disease. "So, I put my foot down and I got really aggressive about seeking treatment," she said, "and I had surgery a year ago and I feel a lot better."
