Broadway singer Amber Iman botched the lyrics to Canada’s national anthem at Sunday afternoon’s NBA matchup between the Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets.
Iman, who will soon star in the touring production of Hamilton, ended her rendition of “O Canada” at the Barclays Center with: “We sing out hearts for thee.”
She also added a “Canada” to the anthem.
The Raptors responded by posting the lyrics to “O Canada” on Twitter and writing: “For future reference.”
On Twitter, Iman snapped back at online haters. “I learned the melody while n 8 hr Hamilton rehearsals. The prompter failed, I did my best, while u watched from your couch. #Bye.”
She then set her Twitter account to private.
The Nets later apologized for the prompter failure.
