Harry Styles has admitted the decision to postpone the first leg of his Love On Tour was a difficult one to make but he has no doubt it was the right thing to do.
“It’s obviously disappointing,” he told the UK’s Capital FM on Tuesday, “but it’s not even close to being the most important thing at all right now.”
Styles announced last week that the COVID-19 crisis was forcing him to bump his UK and European tour, set to begin April 15, to February 2021.
There has been no announcement about the North American leg of the tour, which is scheduled to start on June 6 and includes stops in Montreal on June 30, Toronto on July 3 and 4 and Vancouver on Aug. 23.
“I think everybody understands. It’s not really like there’s anything you can do about it,” said Styles. “The most important thing right now is to keep everyone safe. I have to do that for all of our crew as well as the fans coming to our shows. Like, I don’t want to go to a show right now if this is the thing.
"It’s just about keeping everyone healthy and being safe.”
Styles admitted the global pandemic has dampened his enthusiasm for hitting the road. “Touring doesn’t sound super fun right now,” he said, adding that he is looking forward to 2021.
“We’ll be very ready, I guess, by then.”
