Harry Styles recently spoke about equal rights during an interview on French television.

“I feel like everyone is equal,” he said, after the host of Quotidien suggested that supporting equal rights for women and gays is political.

“That doesn’t feel like politics to me,” Styles replied. “I think stuff like equality feels much more fundamental.”

The singer had just finished dodging a question about Brexit — the UK vote to split from the European Union.

“I don’t really comment about politics,” said Styles, though he added: “Anything that brings people together is better than things that pull people apart.”

During the interview — in which Styles received English translation via an earpiece — the star revealed the strangest question he’s been asked.

“It was actually a French interview,” he said. “I got asked if I would pee in a sink. It was the first question.”
