Harry Styles threw shade at Zayn Malik, thirsted for Nick Jonas and Shawn Mendes, and debuted a song during his appearance on Saturday Night Live.
In the opening monolgue, Styles sat at a piano that he was pretending to play and said: “I don’t know if you’ve heard or not, but I’m not in a boy band anymore. I’m in a man band now.
“I was in a band called One Direction. How crazy would it be if they were here tonight? Well, they’re not here. Wouldn’t it be crazy if they were, though? They’re not.”
Styles added: “I love those guys. They’re my brothers. Niall, Liam, Louis… and, ah, Ringo. Yeah, that’s it.”
The singer – who later in the show performed “Lights Up” and his new single “Watermelon Sugar” – said he was “just so grateful Simon Cowell grew us in those test tubes.”
In one SNL sketch, Styles played the social media manager for Sara Lee who was being questioned by management about his Instagram activity using the company’s account.
On a photo of Nick Jonas, Styles’ character Dylan commented “Wreck me daddy” and “destroy me, king.”
The sketch ended with Dylan admitting that he used the Sara Lee account to DM Shawn Mendes about a special holiday promotion – with “a picture of my open throat.”
