Zayn is going solo once again.
After dominating the Top 40 chart with his surprise single "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" with Taylor Swift in early December, the former One Direction singer ditched the 1989 artist and unveiled his very own acoustic rendition of the emotive song.
In a black-and-white grainy video released Thursday afternoon, Zayn hits the recording studio and delivers a captivating, impassioned rendition of both his and Swift's verses with the mere accompaniment of an acoustic guitar.
Earlier in the day, AT&T released an exclusive clip of Swift rehearsing her solo acoustic performance of "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" for her upcoming concert at DirecTV's Super Saturday Night Super Bowl Party in Houston.
The original track was written by Sam Dew, Swift, and Jack Antonoff; the latter artist also served as a producer. The song serves as the official theme song for the Fifty Shades Darker film starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, out February 10.
