Seattle rockers Heart have decided to postpone all upcoming tour dates after singer Ann Wilson revealed she has cancer.
On their socials the band posted the postponement is due to "medical reasons," however, Wilson has issued a statement saying she has had surgery to remove a cancerous growth and is recovering steadily. Her doctors have also recommended preventive chemotherapy as well as taking time off from touring “in order to fully recover.”
“To the ticket buyers, I really do wish we could do these gigs. Please know that I absolutely plan to be back on stage in 2025,” Wilson said. “My team is getting those details sorted & we’ll let you know the plan as soon as we can."
"This is merely a pause. I've much more to sing," Wilson added. "Respectfully, this is the last public statement l'd like to make on the matter."
Heart were scheduled to play a number of Canadian dates beginning in August, beginning with Ottawa's Canadian Tire Centre on August 1.
All tickets for the postponed shows will now be honoured, with rescheduled dates to be announced in the coming weeks.
