If you're going through heartbreak this season and need some musical therapy, then you might want to turn to Le Youth's new single, "Me Without You," and his just-unveiled video for the dance anthem, which premiered on iHeartRadio on Tuesday.
For the three-and-a-half-minute clip, Le Youth teamed up with director Kevin Cooney, who recently worked on Indiana's "Carolina," for a solemn trip into heartbreak recovery and it's safe to say that we've all been there.
"Me Without You" tackles that period head-on when viewers witness a brunette beauty's struggle to get over a former flame. It's all happy memories when it begins, but as reality tells us, the bad sometimes overthrows the good when photos of her and her ex-boyfriend dissolve before her eyes.
"The image I had in my head for the video was dark and melancholic," Le Youth told iHeartRadio of his vision for the clip. "I just kept seeing this girl going through a breakup, seeing her life unfold, singing 'there ain't no me without you.'"
"Me Without You," which features vocalist Tay Beckham, was inspired by a breakup of his own and is the first release from the DJ's up and running Homewerk record label.
Le Youth revealed that it is the first track in "a steady flow of music" dropping from here on out. "I was wrapped up in a record deal that only allowed me to release a couple songs a year. That's over now. I have a lot of music waiting to come out," he said.
