Wednesday night’s Season 4 finale of The Masked Singer culminated with Sun being declared the winner and then revealed as Grammy winner LeAnn Rimes.
The 38-year-old performed Brandi Carlile’s “The Story” on the episode. Rimes previously performed Lizzo’s “Cuz I Love You,” Kesha’s “Praying,” Janis Joplin’s “Piece of My Heat” and Billie Eilish’s “When the Party’s Over.”
Panelists Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg and Nicole Scherzinger correctly guessed her identity but Ken Jeong thought it was Mandy Moore and Robin Thicke figured it was Katharine McPhee.
This season’s runners-up were Mushroom and Crocodile, who were unmasked as Aloe Blacc and Nick Carter respectively.
Rimes recently dropped the single “Throw My Arms Around the World” and Carter is about to release a new solo single, “‘80s Movie.”
Season 4 of The Masked Singer, which was taped without a studio audience due to COVID-19 (shots of audience members from previous seasons were added in post-production), featured artists like Tori Kelly (Seahorse), Taylor Dayne (Popcorn), Clint Black and Lisa Hartman Black (Snow Owls), Busta Rhymes (Dragon) and Canada’s Paul Anka (Broccoli).
The Masked Singer airs on CTV, whose parent company owns this website.
