A collection of candles Drake teased last summer are inexplicably back in the news this week – two months after a fan shared details on Reddit about how to buy them.
Better World Fragrance House (BWFH), which Drake created in collaboration with Switzerland’s Givaudan, has not yet launched but is expected to do so soon.
The Canadian rapper promoted BWFH as "coming soon" in a June 16th Instagram Story and then, weeks later, sent candles to some of his celebrity friends, who shared pics on Instagram.

In September, perfumer Michael Carby of Givaudan appeared on the Revolve U podcast to talk about BWFH. “When Drake came to us … he asked for uniqueness, he asked for us to take fragrances to a different level,” explained Carby, whose team had met with Drake at his Toronto mansion to talk scents.
On Oct. 6, California-based Revolve offered limited quantities of the candles on its website at $62.91 to $104.86 each. They quickly sold out.
Fast forward to Tuesday, when media outlets around the world jumped on the story using descriptions of the candles The Cut shared in a Nov. 20th post (followed four days later in a post at Elle), which came from an old link to the BWFH section of the Revolve website. Suddenly, details that have been known since October were everywhere: The soy-based candles – named Williamsburg Sleepover, Sweeter Tings, Muskoka, Good Thoughts and Carby Musk – are made in Canada and come with a gold marker for personalizing the jars.
The Carby Musk candle, according to the description, “actually smells like Drake – it's the personal fragrance he wears, which inspired BWFH.”
When it put the candles on sale in October, Revolve suggested “playing the album that inspired this whole project the first time you light one: Midnite- Live in Eugene.” (It’s the 2012 album from the U.S. Virgin Islands-based reggae band.)
The BWFH candles are expected to officially launch "this holiday season."
