Iggy Azalea said Monday she feels “blindsided, embarrassed, violated, angry, sad, and a million other things” by the leak of topless photos and “the vile way people have reacted” to them.
The Australian rapper deactivated her social media accounts – but not before posting a statement in which she vowed legal action.
“There was no reason for anyone to have kept the outtakes from the shoot,” Azalea wrote. “I’m surprised and angry that they were not immediately deleted after the final images were selected.
“I fully [intend] on finding out where the leak originated from and pressing criminal charges.”
Azalea said the photos are outtakes from a session she did in 2016 for GQ Australia, where she was pictured with her hands covering her breasts.
Nino Muñoz, the Vancouver-raised photographer who took the pics, posted a message on Instagram in which he said he is “outraged and saddened” to learn that the photos were “stolen” and leaked.
“There is currently an investigation underway," wrote Muñoz. "Posting these stolen images is illegal and anyone who has done so will be prosecuted."
Azalea said in her statement it is important to her that someone is held accountable “for their actions & the way it impacts my life.”
