Imagine Dragons has partnered with Corning, manufacturer of Gorilla Glass, for a mysterious new marketing campaign.
Late Wednesday, the band cryptically tweeted nothing but “1:” and a link to an audio-less YouTube video showing the silhouette of a couple looking at stars in the night sky.
At the same time, Corning tweeted: “1: @ImagineDragons fans: not a great time for Batman.”
On social media, it didn’t take long for fans to solve the riddle. They noted that the backstory of Batman indicates that Bruce Wayne’s parents died at 10:47 p.m. – and at the 10:47 mark in the video, the Orion constellation seemingly appears.
Translate Orion into Greek and you get "Ὠαρίων," the first of six passwords to enter at asecondevolution.com.
Those who can't guess the password can click on a series of numbers that spell out "HELP" in ASCII code at the bottom of the website. This brings up a message that reads: “Stuck? Include the number of the password and tag @CorningGorilla and @ImagineDragons for a chance at a hint.”
What remains to be seen is what will be revealed at the end of the campaign.
Corning Gorilla is a brand of strong but lightweight glass, commonly used on smartphones.
