Jane Fonda has revealed she kicked herself for not getting it on with R&B singer Marvin Gaye.
In an interview with The New York Times, the 82-year-old actress was asked if her greatest regret was not having sex with revolutionary Ernesto “Che” Guevara.
“No, I don’t think about him,” Fonda replied. “Who I do think about, and what is a great regret is Marvin Gaye.
“He wanted to and I didn’t.”
Fonda said at the time she was married to second husband Tom Hayden. “I was meeting a lot of performers to try to do concerts for Tom and the woman who was helping me do that introduced me to Marvin Gaye,” she recalled.
Times columnist Maureen Dowd asked Fonda is Gaye used the title of his iconic song “Sexual Healing” in his pick-up line.
“I needed some,” she said, “but he didn’t say that, no.”
Gaye was shot and killed by his father in 1984 at 44.
