Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z has addressed the beat down he got from Solange Knowles in a New York City elevator in 2014.
Leaked security camera footage showed Solange going off on Jay-Z while his wife (and her sister) Beyoncé Knowles looked on.
“We had one disagreement ever,” Jay-Z said on the Rap Radar podcast. “Before and after we've been cool.”
While he didn’t explain what sparked the fight, rumours have swirled that Solange was defending her sister’s honour amidst cheating allegations.
On the title track of his album 4:44, Jay-Z raps: "If my children knew / I don't even know what I would do / If they ain't look at me the same / I would probably die with all the shame / ‘You did what with who?' / What good is a ménage à trois when you have a soulmate? / 'You risked that for Blue?’”
Whatever caused Solange to go off on her brother-in-law, Jay-Z hasn't held a grudge.
“She's like my sister,” he said. “I will protect her.
“That's my sister, not my sister-in-law, my sister.”
