Prince’s estate and Jay-Z announced on Friday plans to release a compilation album of previously unheard music from the late artist’s catalogue.
The announcement comes after a legal dispute filed in 2016 by Prince’s estate against Jay-Z’s music streaming service was resolved.
“Our only goal is to share Prince’s music with his fans as he wanted,” Jay-Z said, in a press release. "We will continue to respect and honour Prince’s enduring legacy and wishes with this new collection.”
The project is separate from an album of Prince material that is due to drop in September.
The newly-announced project is expected to be released in 2019, exclusively on Jay-Z’s streaming service for the first two-weeks, before being available on all platforms.
