Chance the Rapper, Meek Mill, Toni Braxton and Big Sean are among the music artists sharing messages of hope for singer-rapper Jeremih, who is reportedly in intensive care with COVID-19.
The 33-year-old, whose real name is Jeremy Felton, is on a ventilator in a Chicago hospital, according to TMZ. It cited sources as saying the prognosis is “bleak.”
“He is like a brother to me,” tweeted Chance the Rapper.
Reps for Jeremih have not commented publicly on his condition and it is not clear when he tested positive for COVID-19 or when he was hospitalized.
Jeremih released four albums, four mixtapes and three EPs between 2009 and 2018. He recently collaborated with Ne-Yo on the single “U 2 Luv” and has previously released tracks featuring Flo Rida, Chris Brown, Ludacris and Lil Wayne.
Jeremih toured with Canada’s PartyNextDoor in 2016.
He won Hip Hop/R&B Song of the Year at the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Award for “Don’t Tell Em” ft. YG and was nominated for Soul/R&B Breakthrough Artist at the American Music Awards in 2009.
