Canadian country singer Jess Moskaluke announced Friday that her new EP Past The Past will be out Nov. 3.
The 2017 Juno-winning artist collaborated with Grammy-nominated producer/songwriter Corey Crowder on the seven-track collection that kicks off with the single “Drive Me Away.”
Moskaluke explained: “For the first time in my career, there’s an actual theme to this album. It wasn’t intentional, I didn’t plan it, it just fell into place this way. It was important for me to share this message with my fans, as there are a lot of sad songs, or break up songs, or starting over songs on this record. That is not where I’m at in my life anymore. For that reason, the theme of this album is #PastThePast.”
It’s the fourth release from Moskaluke and her first since the 2015 EP Kiss Me Quiet. Earlier this year, she told iHeartRadio.ca that fans shouldn’t expect a full-length album.
“That’s just not the way that music is going these days,” she explained. “It’s too expensive and as much as I would love to put out [a full-length album], they’re not as well received as the EPs.”
