Rising stars Jessie Reyez and Daniel Caesar were among the artists honoured Wednesday at the 21st Canadian Radio Music Awards (CRMA) in Toronto.
Reyez, 27, was named Best New Solo Artist (Contemporary Hit Radio) and Caesar, 23, was named both Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Talent Development Story of the Year.
Reyez found success with her 2016 single "Figures" and was featured on Calvin Harris' "Hard To Love." She also co-wrote the Harris track "One Kiss" featuring Dua Lipa. Reyez won a Juno Award this year for Breakthrough Artist.
Caesar's debut album Freudian came out in 2017 and earned him a pair of Grammy nominations and two Juno wins.
Best New Group winners at the CRMAs were DVBBS (Adult Contemporary), New City (Dance/Urban), The Beaches (Rock) and River Town Saints (Country).
Alessia Cara was named the Fans’ Choice.
The CRMAs are part of Canadian Music Week, which runs until May 13.
