John Legend will be in Massachusetts on Tuesday to accept a social justice award from Salem State University.

The 38-year-old “All Of Me” singer is the first recipient of the Salem Advocate for Social Justice award, which was created to recognize individuals who champion social justice issues and advocate for underrepresented people.

Legend is involved in education and criminal justice advocacy and has served on the boards of several community organizations.

The Grammy- and Oscar-winner is also scheduled to perform at the inaugural award presentation.
