Singer John Mellencamp is engaged to actress Meg Ryan, the bride-to-be revealed on Thursday.
Ryan posted a drawing on Instagram of a woman and a man with a guitar that she captioned simply: “ENGAGED!”
Mellencamp, 67, and Ryan, 56, started dating in 2010 but split up four years later. He told Howard Stern in March 2017 that a reconciliation was unlikely “because I’m a child. I throw fits, I gripe, I complain. I’m moody. Every bad thing that a fella can be, that’s me.”
It will be the rocker’s fourth marriage. He has five children from his previous marriages. Ryan was married to Dennis Quaid, with whom she has a son, until 2001. In 2006, she adopted a daughter from China.
Mellencamp is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee best known for hits like "Hurts So Good, "Jack and Diane," and "Pink Houses."
Ryan's long list of film credits includes When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle and the Toronto-shot Against the Ropes.
