Singer Jordan Pruitt, who opened for Demi Lovato and competed on The Voice, claims her former manager sexually abused between the ages of 14 and 16.
The 28-year-old, who announced her retirement from the music industry at the end of 2017, has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against Keith Thomas and her former label, Hollywood Records.
Pruitt alleges Thomas controlled her, kept her from boys her age, and convinced her mother to allow him to spend time alone with her. She claims he gave her compliments and gifts and told her their relationship was “special” and “a secret.”
Pruitt, who competed on Season 3 of The Voice, alleges Hollywood Records, part of Disney, failed to protect her from Thomas.
The lawsuit was filed anonymously last month but amended on Tuesday to identify the parties involved.
3 weeks ago as "Jane Doe" I filed a lawsuit against my molester and those who enabled him. No more Jane Doe. I am Jordan Pruitt. #justice #metoo #SeeSomethingSaySomething

According to Variety, a lawyer for Thomas did not respond to a request for comment.
Pruitt released albums in 2007 and 2008 and went on tour with Lovato and the Jonas Brothers as well as The Cheetah Girls and the cast of High School Musical. She currently co-owns a bar in Nashville with her husband and plans to publish a book for victims of sexual abuse.
