Judas Priest, Soundgarden and Nine Inch Nails are among the finalists for induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year.
"Judas Priest are in the screaming metal thrill zone again with our second RRHOF nomination," read a tweet from the band, "especially as we approach our 50 Heavy Metal Years Anniversary in 2020."
Nine of the 16 nominees made the list for the first time: Dave Matthews Band, the Doobie Brothers, Motörhead, The Notorious B.I.G., Pat Benatar, Soundgarden, T.Rex, Thin Lizzy, and Whitney Houston.
The acts chosen for induction next May will be announced in January.
