And the Juno goes to… hang on.
Organizers of the Canadian music awards said Wednesday they will “hold off indefinitely” on announcing this year’s winners.
"After much consideration & due to the escalating COVID-19 crisis & its impact on our communities, we have made the decision to hold off indefinitely on the announcement of the 2020 JUNO Award winners,” read a statement shared on social media.
“Our focus will be to support the music community during this crisis and when appropriate, we will duly honour our artists and their achievements.”
The Juno Awards, scheduled to be handed out March 14 and 15 in Saskatoon, were cancelled on March 12 due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19.
Allan Reid, president and CEO of CARAS and the Juno Awards, said in a message at the time: "I can assure you we will find a way to appropriately honour all 2020 nominees and special award recipients.”
The 2021 Juno Awards, marking the 50th anniversary, are set to take place in Toronto.
