Alessia Cara will likely be spending a lot of time on stage at the 2020 Juno Awards in Saskatoon. The singer has six nominations and will be hosting and performing on the March 15th show, it was announced Tuesday.
At 23, Cara – who was named Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the Junos in 2016 – is the youngest Juno host since The Moffatts in 2000.
"I am ecstatic to be a part of the largest celebration of Canadian music and can't wait to see what the country's top talent has in store,” she said, in a release.
Also set to perform are Daniel Caesar, Lennon Stella, The Glorious Sons and Tory Lanez, as well as Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee Jann Arden.
Cara is vying for Fan Choice and has noms for Single of the Year (“Out Of Love”), Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year (The Pains Of Growing), Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.
Other multiple Juno nominees include Tory Lanez, Alexandra Stréliski, Bryan Adams, bülow, Loud Luxury, NAV and Shawn Mendes.
Scott Helman, Michael Bublé, Jessie Reyez, Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine, Neon Dreams and Tenille Townes all earned nominations. Big names like Justin Bieber, Avril Lavigne and The Weeknd are up for the Fan Choice award.
