Is it too late now to say 抱歉?
Justin Bieber has been banned from China because of his history of “bad behaviour.”
Beijing’s Culture Bureau posted a statement on its website Friday explaining that the Canadian pop star is not allowed to perform in the country because he has “caused discontent among the public.”
The official explanation reads: “Justin Bieber is a gifted singer, but he is also a controversial young foreign idol. As far as we are concerned, he has engaged in a series of bad behaviors, both in his social life and during a previous performance in China, which caused discontent among the public.”
Bieber has performed in China on previous tours. In 2013, images of the singer being carried up China's Great Wall by his bodyguard went viral.
The Asian leg of Bieber’s Purpose tour, which kicks off Sept. 23, includes stops in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines and Indonesia.
China has previously banned acts like Maroon 5, Jay-Z, Oasis, Bob Dylan, and Bjork.
