Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey kicked off their new The Biebers on Watch series on Monday by venturing out on Puslinch Lake to talk about their journey as a couple.
With a GoPro camera running, the couple climbed into the small boat with seats covered in Drew House stickers and left the shore of their 43-hectare property near Cambridge, Ont.
“This is one of the most peaceful places,” Justin declared once out on the water. Hailey called it their “sanctuary.”
After reminiscing about childhood fishing trips with his grandfather Bruce Dale, the 26-year-old pop star and Hailey, 23, got into the weeds of their relationship.
Hailey said one of the best things about being married is “you have a best friend that you get to do everything with.” She then asked Justin to name the hardest part of being married.
“There’s a lot of things that I needed to work on,” Justin replied. “Forgiveness things, jealousy things, insecurities I didn’t even realize I had until I chose to spend my life with you.”
Hailey also reflected on reconnecting with Justin after he decided to put his well-publicized bad behaviour behind him.
“We have a lot of mutual friends and they would tell me that you were really working on yourself and you were doing really well and they had been really impressed by how you were living your life and you were trying to keep to yourself,” she recalled. “And you weren’t on any - if I’m allowed to say this – you weren’t on any [bleep] anymore.”
The couple’s boat ride could have landed them in hot water with the Ontario Provincial Police because there appeared to be no personal floatation devices (PFD) in the boat. Ontario law requires one PFD per person (they don’t have to be worn).
